New Directions has had an eventful Valentine’s Day this year. Our Waterloo day service was host to two wonderful events. For those who aren’t aware Waterloo Park is a friendly and uplifting day centre for older people to socialise and participate in a wide range of activities. This year our New Centre Stage drama group came down to perform on Monday the 23rd. Then on Valentine’s day itself, Waterloo held a fabulous Valentine’s raffle.

  • In first place winning the beautiful Valentine pamper hamper Is Jean King.
  • In 2nd place winning the Maltesers and wine is John Randles
  • In 3rd place winning the Chocolates is Frank McConville.
Everyone as always was kind and generous. They also had a name the bear competition which was won by Brenda Davies. The Bear was called Starsky. The staff at Waterloo want to say thank you so much to everyone who contributed.

Over at our Brookdale service, a celebration that involved decoration and song was had. All who attend Brookdale had a lovely time. For those who aren’t aware Brookdale is a unique, specialist day service for people who are living with varying stages of dementia.

We would like to thank everyone who got involved with this year’s Valentine’s celebrations and look forward to seeing what next year’s celebrations have in store.
