Short Break Service
Poplars in Southport provides a high-quality short break service for adults with learning disabilities and additional complex needs.
We provide both pre-planned and emergency respite in our six-bedded bungalow, which is a short journey from Southport town centre and all local amenities.
As well as offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the people we support, we also enable their carers, friends and families to enjoy their own respite while their loved ones are in our care.
Open all year round, we operate a hotel-style booking system, in which the people we support and their carers can book short breaks right through to one and two week stays.

Annie's Story
I never thought I would ever say a broken bone was a blessing…but if I hadn’t badly broken my leg and my old respite service couldn’t accommodate me, I would have never found Poplars!
Continuous Transformation
We have introduced an assessment period that works closely with the person, family and other services involved in their support to ensure a home from home experience.
A new filing system for each person has been introduced and we have improved our referral processes into service.
Our team has developed new skills to support transitions people needing to move onto permanent accommodation. We recently installed a sensory experience spa bath, with lighting and blue tooth for music.
