Together with fellow Managing Directors Rhian Stone from Bolton and Kat Sowden from Bury, and kindly hosted by Rob Jackson from Oldham, they discussed opportunities to address the key challenges in the care sector and potential national policies on the horizon, such as a National Care Service and a fair pay agreement for care workers.
New Directions is also a member of a newly established national network of council-owned companies, with Mark Fox as the co-chair. This network, with the National Care Forum, is committed to collaborating to share best practices and bring about positive change for the sector through a not-for-profit public sector ethos.
