The festive season came to life in spectacular fashion as the Award-Winning New Centre Stage, run by New Directions’ South Hub, presented their Winter Showcase: Prince’s Christmas Party. This year’s performance featured a lively, modern twist on the classic tale of Cinderella, filled with festive cheer, music, and plenty of laughs. The shows, held on December 2nd and 3rd at the David Brown Centre in Netherton, drew packed houses for both performances.
The showcase was packed with vibrant music, colourful costumes, and a fresh take on the Cinderella story, with all the magic and fun of the traditional pantomime. The 90-seat theatre was standing room only, as friends, family, and the local community gathered to support the performers.
Building Confidence Through the Arts
New Centre Stage provides a space where people with learning disabilities can explore drama, musical theatre, and creative dance, building confidence and communication skills along the way. The group’s performances—such as Prince’s Christmas Party—give participants the chance to showcase their talents, develop new skills, and grow in a supportive environment.
This Winter Showcase culminated months of hard work, and the energy of the performances showed that every participant had given their all. The production highlighted not only their talent but also the strength of the bonds they’ve formed through theatre.
