How we handle your data
Here at New Directions, we take the utmost care with the information you provide us with. All our services have dedicated protected systems which mean that you information is locked and only accessed by management.
If you are a user of our services, you will be asked to sign a GPDR form which allows us to use your photos for New Directions use only. We will never give out your information to anyone else and the use of photographs will be used only for New Directions use only.

Covid-19 Statement – Updated on the 27/09/2021
New Directions remains focused on the care and wellbeing of the people we support, our staff, volunteers, and families throughout the ever-changing challenges Covid 19 has brought, not only to our organisation, but society as a whole.
We are fortunate to have all our services open, which we review and monitor daily, enabling us to respond to Government advice and local transmission rates.
Our staff continue to work tirelessly to ensure the health and well-being of the people we support by either visiting individuals in their homes or through our residential and day services. We have strong infection control measures in place and have extensively trained and re-trained all staff in good infection control.
At all times, we want to reassure you that we are following Government guidance on how we respond to the pandemic, with our utmost priority being focussed on keeping people safe and well.
Covid 19 Safe Practice:
· Our staff and people who attend services are tested regularly for Covid 19, complying with Government guidance, which is reviewed daily.
· We rolled out a successful vaccination programme for our staff as soon as the vaccine was available. Our people we support are mostly fully vaccinated.
· New Directions’ policy is to promote the Covid-19 vaccination by encouraging and educating individuals to have their vaccinations. We are encouraged by the huge uptake of vaccinations across our organisation.
You can be reassured that all our services have an ongoing and plentiful supply of personal protective equipment (PPE). We have robust infection control measures and enhanced cleaning regimes in place in our services. Our staff are fully trained to ensure infection prevention and control measures are strictly followed. We continue to risk assess and risk manage our services and will provide updates if any circumstances change. If local services are impacted due to local restrictions or public health requirements, then your local service will inform you.

Throughout this global pandemic and future of uncertainty, we are actively working to guarantee the safety and wellbeing of all our staff and the people who use our services. Our frontline staff, in particular, play a vital role in delivering essential support to those most vulnerable and at risk.
During this national UK lockdown, we are effectively planning safe ways for everyone to utilise our services. As part of this our main concern will always be to our people and the New Directions family. Crucial support that we provide is needed during these difficult times to maintain mental and physical wellbeing whilst staying safe. The introduction of the new Vaccines has meant that everyone can effectively manage the symptoms of COVID-19 and has allowed those most vulnerable to be protected. This will inevitably allow for a smooth transition on the way to establishing normality with a roadmap out of COVID-19.
The latest information given from the Government regarding COVID-19 is one of positive outcomes. We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and the roadmap that will lead us out of this COVID-19 crisis.

Please see below what do to if you or anyone else you know has the symptoms of COVID-19:
If you have a positive COVID-19 test you must self-isolate for up to 10 days. This includes anyone within your household and support bubble.
“Stay home and self-isolate even if you have minor symptoms such as cough, headache, mild fever, until you recover. Call your health care provider or hotline for advice. Have someone bring you supplies. If you need to leave your house or have someone near you, wear a medical mask to avoid infecting others.
If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention immediately. Call by telephone first, if you can and follow the directions of your local health authority.”

All our sites are in line with government guidelines we are adhering to the strictest hygiene and social distancing rules.
