On Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, our New Centre Stage Drama Group made history! They competed in the Care Sectors Got Talent finals, a remarkable showcase of talent across the care sector.
Care Sectors Got Talent offers a unique platform for care staff and those receiving care to share their hidden talents and create unforgettable experiences. The competition is a fantastic initiative that promotes creativity and self-expression and provides a beautiful outlet for supporting mental well-being within the care sector.
After a gruelling competition and securing a spot amongst the final eight acts, New Centre Stage received the incredible news – they would be performing live at the event! Our group embarked on a two-and-a-half-hour journey from their home at the David Brown Centre to Coventry, ready to shine.
Standing out as one of the two acts featuring both care staff and supported individuals, New Centre Stage delivered a truly one-of-a-kind performance. Their exceptional act captivated the live audience at the arena, viewers at home and the four esteemed judges.
The performance was a testament to the collective talent and collaborative spirit of all our amazing performers and staff at New Centre Stage. Crafted in a co-production, the showcase was an amazing song and dance number with vocals from Vicky Bennett, the head of the group. It demonstrated what can be accomplished in the care sector when everyone works together.
The competition was fierce, and the judges faced a difficult decision after each act performed their heart out. Ultimately, two awards were presented. The judges’ choice for the overall winner of Care Sectors Got Talent went to the talented Molly.
However, the night for the New Centre Stage was still ongoing! There was another exciting announcement to come – the public vote! Everyone in the arena and all viewers at home had the chance to cast their vote for the act that stole their hearts.
We are thrilled to announce that New Centre Stage won the Public Vote! Their exceptional performance resonated with the audience, earning them the cash prize. A huge congratulations to New Centre Stage for their phenomenal achievement! Their dedication, talent, and teamwork truly shone through, making them an inspiration to us all.
