This year’s Shared Lives Week saw New Directions Shared Lives swept up in a host of celebrations. To start the week off Shared Lives hosted a coffee morning.

Councillor Judy Hardman who is also a member of the New Directions non-executive board and her colleague Councillor Diane Roscoe attended. The pair took the time to meet with all the Shared Lives carers at the event. Attendees were also joined by Eleanor Moulton, who is the Assistant Director of Commissioning from Sefton MBC and of course our Managing Director Mark Fox.
Everyone enjoyed sharing good stories about Shared Lives, carers especially enjoyed speaking to Ellie, Judy and Diane. New Directions are honoured to have had them all at our Shared Lives Week event.

The week didn’t end there though. A few days later the Shared Lives Fayre was held at our Shared Lives office in Chase Heys.

Shared Lives Staff, Carers, Supported People and even a few neighbours of the Shared Lives office all came together for some fun in the sun. Not to be the noisy neighbours the Shared Lives team invited everyone from around the local area. The event was full of food, song and Summer fun.

The festival went on way into the late hours as everyone celebrated Shared Lives. Shared Lives is about more than care, it’s an environment that ensures that everyone involved from staff to supported people is part of the process. Everyone contributes to its success so everyone deserves to celebrate their involvement. The event welcomes a wonderful range of people from both within and outside of Shared Lives.
